Gulshara Abdykalikova, Kazakhstan’s State Secretary, takes part in the meeting with "Bolashak" int’l scholarship holders, judges and judicial system employees aimed at training in the UK

Kairat Mami, the Chairman of the Supreme Court and Kairat Kelimbetov, the AIFC Managing Director, have also taken part in the meeting.

As part of the internship, the scholarship holders will study the work principles of the British judges, the rule of law, judicial lawmaking and judicial precedents and the international arbitration law. Traineeship is also planned in the UK courts and leading legal and law firms.

In her welcoming speech Gulshara Abdykalikova stressed that the Head of State in "The Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness" Address identified 5 main priorities aimed at becoming one of the world’s 30 most advanced countries.

One of the major concerns is improving the quality of human capital and education, as the main component of the economic growth’s new model. Ensuring the country’s sustainable development and increasing its global competitiveness requires investing in high-quality education of human capital.

The Secretary of State noted that 12 271 "Bolashak" scholarships had been awarded for 24 years. 9 427 are qualified professionals. 98% of graduates have been employed. Today over 1,300 fellows are getting educated.

Separate target groups of judges, lawyers and financiers have been identified in order to provide the supremacy of the statute law, the establishment of the International Financial Center "Astana", in particular, specified in the Nation’s Plan.

In conclusion, the Secretary of State expressed her confidence that participation in the specialized internship program would increase the professionalism of scholarship holders to successfully actualize the Five Institutional Reforms defined by the Head of State.
