Meeting with Giorgi Margvelashvili, Georgian President, who arrived in Kazakhstan with an official visit

June 13, 2017

The Head of the State greeted the President of Georgia and noted that his visit was taking place on the background of significant events - the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries and the beginning of EXPO-2017 international exhibition.

- We are grateful for your visit and participation of Georgia in the exhibition. Our relations have always been good; our countries in the first years of independence provided each other with all-round assistance, and Kazakhstan is one of the main investors of your economy. I do not see any obstacles to further improve bilateral relations, and your visit is very important in this regard, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The President of Georgia noted that visiting Kazakhstan is his long-standing desire, given the interesting dynamics of the country's development.

- Now I clearly see what you and your people have done during these very difficult years. The Georgian nation is grateful and appreciates support of the republic and your personal support.  I consider the possibility of Georgia's participation in EXPO-2017 very significant, where we can show our economic achievements and support our traditional good-neighborly relations, Giorgi Margvelashvili said.

The President of Georgia also stressed that his country actively participates in the concept of economic cooperation and creates conditions for developing a dialogue between nations.

-I know that you are doing a great job in this direction, and it is in this vector that our countries have developed from the moment of gaining independence, Giorgi Margvelashvili summed up.

In conclusion, the President of Georgia expressed great gratitude to Nursultan Nazarbayev for his many years of support and shared his pleasant impression of staying in Astana.
