Participation in the Fifth Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States

This summit was devoted to the development of cooperation in the field of information.

Presidents of Azerbaijan – I.Aliyev, Kyrgyzstan – A.Atambayev, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly - I.Yylmaz, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan - S.Toyliev and Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States R.Gasanov were also present at the event.

In his speech the President of Kazakhstan called the Fifth anniversary summit in Astana an important step towards the integration of the Turkic world.

The Head of State stressed the need to accelerate the adoption of the Turkic world integration concept, prepared by the Turkic Academy.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that it is in the common interests of the member states that the Turkic Council in the future obtains the status of an observer at the UN and OIC.

Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that today the Turkic world is influenced by various geopolitical and geo-economic changes in the world.

Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked participants for supporting initiatives within the Council.

- I am sure that the decisions taken at the summit will have the greatest impact on the dynamic development of the Turkic-speaking countries, - said the President of Kazakhstan.

The participants of the summit determined that the Sixth Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states will be held in 2016 in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan) and will be devoted to the theme "National Sports".

Following the event, participants signed the Declaration of the Fifth Summit, and the decision on the appointment of the Deputy Secretary General of Turkic Council and the President of the Turkish culture and heritage fund.
