Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s congratulation on the Victory Day

Dear compatriots!

I cordially congratulate you on the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War!

This beautiful holiday is a bright symbol of the unparalleled feat of our fathers and grandfathers, who defended their native land in bloody battles and crushed Nazism.

In those difficult years, the people of Kazakhstan showed incredible courage and heroism. 1, 200 000 people were sent to the war, and half of them did not return.

The names of Talgat Bigeldinov, Sergey Lugansky, Leonid Beda, Aliya Moldagulova, Manshuk Mametova, Ivan Pavlov, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Sagadat Nurmagambetov, Malik Gabdullin, Hiuaz Dospanova, Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev and other war heroes will forever remain in our memory.

Hundreds of industrial enterprises and industries were evacuated to Kazakhstan, where tens of thousands of our fellow citizens forged a Great Victory. Each 9th out of 10 of the bullets were cast from Kazakhstan’s lead, while the village workers with their titanic labor provided the war with food.

We are deeply indebted to the older generation. Thanks to their courage, perseverance and patriotism, we live in peace and create our own bright future.

Despite the fact that this year’s holiday is held in a special conditions, none of the veterans was left without our attention and support.

I sincerely wish the veterans good health, prosperity and good spirits!

May peace always reign on our land!
