The progress that the company has made on the Karachaganak field, which now operates in full production, and prospectus of further collaboration were discussed during the meeting.
F. Chapman said on the briefing for journalists: “I am pleased to visit Kazakhstan one more time, and I am glad to see the progress that has been achieved in building of Astana. Astana reflects the views of the President, and huge energy of Kazakhstan’s people, who achieved such a progress in a relatively small time.
The main purpose of my visit concerns the President’s evaluation of our views on further development of the Karachaganak field. We realize that there is a huge potential for increasing volumes of extracting liquids by three times. Of course, it can lead to additional investments of about 10 billion dollars over the period of the nearest 6-8 years. These investments will create additional work places in Kazakhstan”.
