Meeting with Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus

After the official ceremony of the meeting between the two leaders, the talks took place with a smaller number of participants.

Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed gratitude to Alexander Lukashenko for the invitation to visit Minsk with an official visit and noted that this visit takes place in the year of the 25th anniversary of  establishing diplomatic relations between the two states.

The Kazakh leader underlined the historically established friendly character of relations between Kazakhstan and Belarus.

- Within a short space of time, we have achieved considerable success. Under extreme conditions we have created a powerful political base for bilateral cooperation. Our states are reliable partners who have open and trust-based relations, the President of Kazakhstan said.

The Head of State has taken a favourable view of the dynamics of the Kazakh-Belarusian trade and economic cooperation development during the current year.

Nursultan Nazarbayev reminded of the close economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Belarus within the framework of a common integration association - the Eurasian Economic Union.

- In Kazakhstan there are 260 Belarusian enterprises and 6 joint large automobile assembly plants. On the shelves of stores in Kazakhstan there are products of Belarusian agriculture, the Head of State said.

In turn, Alexander Lukashenko noted the importance of the visit of the President of Kazakhstan in the context of further deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation.

-I am sure that your visit will increase the turnover, and we have everything for that, the President of the Republic of Belarus said.

At the end of the meeting, the leaders expressed their confidence that the documents signed today would contribute to further deepening of relations between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus.
