Telephone conversation with Donald Trump, President of the United States of America

During the telephone conversation, the US President congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on the successful holding of EXPO-2017 international exhibition in Astana and highly appreciated the results of the American delegation’s participation in this event.

The President of Kazakhstan expressed his condolences in connection with the natural disaster in the State of Texas, which killed dozens of people, and also wished for an early restoration of the infrastructure of the affected areas and the return of the local population to normal life.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of the first meeting, held on May 21 this year; in Riyadh within the Islamic World – USA Summit in order to strengthen cooperation between Astana and Washington.

Nursultan Nazarbayev informed the US President about the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Science and Technology to be held in Astana on September 10-11 of this year.

The leaders discussed the state and prospects for the Kazakh-American relations’ progress. At the same time, the parties agreed to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Exchange of views has taken place on the topical issues of the regional and international agenda.

The President of Kazakhstan has made a point of launching the Low Enriched Uranium Bank in Kazakhstan on August 29, 2009 aimed at strengthening global security.

The Presidents paid special attention to the state of the US-Russian relations. Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed hope for returning to normality of the dialogue between Washington and Moscow.

Donald Trump invited the President of Kazakhstan to visit Washington on an official visit.

At the end of the conversation, the Heads of the states confirmed their intention to maintain a regular dialogue on matters of mutual interest.

The conversation has taken place on the initiative of the American side.
