The President attended the ceremony of raising the State Flag at the Atameken burial mound. This ceremony started festive events devoted to the capital city’s jubilee.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that Kazakhstani people had many achievements over the years of independence. All these accomplishments were made under the sky-blue flag of Kazakhstan that bears the image of the sun, silhouette of a flying eagle and golden national ornament.
Today, Kazakhstan is famous and respectable in the whole world and its new capital Astana is becoming an important center of international life.
Nursultan Nazarbayev walked along a red road symbolizing the way of Kazakhstani people to their statehood and sovereignty, and stopped at the monument. There, Kazakhstan’s President raised the state Flag of the country, which will be permanently situated at that site.
The capital city’s flag was raised together with the country’s main flag.
Finishing the ceremony, the President made a record in the book of honorary guests devoted to Astana’s 10th anniversary.
After that, Nursultan Nazarbayev viewed the square in front of the city’s circus. Its decoration was performed by the Karaganda region as a present to the capital city. The region’s governor Nurlan Nigmatullin presented the gift of the region.
The square’s key figure is a fountain. There are 10 circus figures namely a clown, elephant, lion, gymnast and others on its circumference. Balancing equilibrist is in the center of the fountain.
In addition, one of the square’s alleys was decorated with six personages of Kazakh tales. The area nearby the circus was decorated and illuminated during the reconstruction.
