The State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev received the Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO) Tibor Toth.

During the meeting the State Secretary K.Saudabayev stated that Kazakhstan stands for the fastest validation of the ComprehensiveNuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and calls upon other countries to follow its example of nuclear disarmament and peaceful foreign policy.

- Based on own positive experience, we think that after abandoning the nuclear weapons and building the relations of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries, Kazakhstan not only guaranteed its sovereignty and national security but also created best conditions for its own development. We suppose that only a comprehensive rejection of nuclear weapons can ensure peace and security on our planet and that other countries should take the Kazakhstani way towards the nuclear-free world, said K. Saudabayev.

Kazakhstan signed the CTBT in 1996, and ratified the Treaty in 2001.
