Today President Nursultan Nazarbayev Arrives in Moscow for Working Trip

Tomorrow the President of Kazakhstan is expected to take part in the Collective Security Council meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. An informal meeting of heads of the CIS member states is also scheduled to be held.

Today President Nursultan Nazarbayev Meets President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

Following the official welcome ceremony at the residence of the President of Belarus Nursultan Nazarbayev and Alexander Lukashenko held talks in the narrow format.

The President of Belarus emphasized that the volume of trade between our countries achieved the level of one billion US$. In this regard, Kazakhstan is ranked third among the CIS countries, after Russia and Ukraine in terms of trade with Belarus.

Then the expanded meeting was held. The sides discussed the issues on further development and strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian areas, as well as topical issues on the international agenda.

Following the talks, the heads of state took part in the signing ceremony of bilateral documents.

In particular, a joint statement of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the President of the Republic of Belarus was signed. Moreover, eight official inter-governmental and inter-ministerial agreements were signed in the course of the visit.

Following the signing ceremony, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Alexander Lukashenko made a statement to the press.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev Continues Working Trip to West Kazakhstan Region

The second day of the President’s working trip to the region started with visiting of the UralskAgroRemMash plant. Nursultan Nazarbayev acquainted himself with the new manufacturing at the plant, which produces special automotive equipment. The technological equipment park has been upgraded as part of the accelerated industrial and innovative development programme. The enterprise received the support as part of the Business Road Map 2020 Programme. The plant produces fire engines, water sprinklers and plans to set up the production equipment for the collection of household wastes.

The head of state met local business leaders in order to discuss industrialization plans.

Then the President visited a new mathematics and physics Nazarbayev intellectual school involving 58 local and 16 foreign teachers. The 7th intellectual school will be educating 600 students according to international standards. Its main feature is the boarding school, which will accommodate 120 gifted children from remote regions of the country.

Children will study in the Kazakh, Russian and English languages. To date, fifteen intellectual schools are planned to be built throughout the country.

The program of the working trip of the President started with visiting of Batys Kunbagys, a local plant producing vegetable oil. The project has been financed by the local funds and Oral Social Entrepreneurship Corporation.

Murat Zharkeyev, Chairman of Board of Batys Kunbagys, JSC briefed the President on the course of the production processes at the plant. Opening of this enterprise created 150 new jobs with average salary of workers in the amount of KZT 68, 000.

The plant’s products are sold well in the Atyrau, Almaty, Mangistau, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions. Vegetable oil manufactured here is 20% cheaper than that of other manufacturers and has an organic certificate meeting European standards.

At the end of the visit the head of state also met with local farmers at the plant.

The President also visited the West Kazakhstan Engineering Company. It opened in 2003, and as part of the industrialization map, the enterprise has implemented a project on the production of gas compressor units and gas turbine power plants. The main pride of the company is its unique innovation base for repairing military and civil aircraft engines.

The President also became acquainted with Kazakhstan’s experimental aircraft made from carbon material and assembled within one year.

Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the ammunition workshop and met with workers of the plant.

By the presidential decree Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bakhtiyar Sardarbekovich Tassymov has been appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan with concurrent accreditation to the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

By the presidential decree Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Spain Bakyt Amangeldinovich Dyusenbayev has been appointed Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan with concurrent accreditation at the World Tourism Organization.

President Nazarbayev got acquainted with the exhibit display and personally witnessed the demonstration of the military divisions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The head of state emphasized that this event is designed to become a platform for an effective interaction of military equipment producers and consumers from different countries.

This year, it is attended by over 250 companies from over 20 countries worldwide. A wide range of exhibits is displayed by the domestic producers of military equipment that is widely known not only in Kazakhstan but also abroad. Among the countries participating in the exhibition are Germany, Russia, Canada, Poland, the USA, Ukraine, Belarus, Italy, Spain, France, Turkey and others.

Today President Nursultan Nazarbayev Receives Chairman of the Agency for Fighting Economic and Corruption-Related Crimes Rashid Tusupbekov

Rashid Tusupbekov informed the President on the results of the Agency’ work that had been done in the first quarter of this year. The disclosure of economic and corruption-related crimes grew by 6.5 percent and 23 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.

The Chairman of the Agency also briefed the President on the measures being taken to decline the fiscal police’s intervention in entrepreneurial activity and reduce the pressure on businesses. In particular, he emphasized that in order to exclude the possibility of such interference, the Astana and Pavlodar region departments had launched a pilot programme aimed at enhancing the role of investigators at the pre-investigation stage.

At the end of the meeting, the head of state gave concrete instructions and set a number of tasks before the Agency.
