Participation of Secretary of State of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova in the National Scientific-Practical Conference

The main theme of the Conference, held within the framework of events dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the founding of the Kazakh Khanate, was “Famous women of the Kazakh Khanate.”

In her opening remarks, Gulshara Abdykalikova stressed that as noted by Nursultan Nazarbayev the Kazakh Khanate was the first state in Central Asia.

The Secretary of State said it is important to study the history of the Kazakh Khanate in the context of the Mangilik El idea, “100 Concrete Steps to Implement Five Institutional Reforms”, because the knowledge of national history lays the foundation for the Nation of the United Future concept.

Gulshara Abdykalikova emphasized that since ancient times Kazakh women were famous for such inherent traits as kindness, poignant wit and subtle diplomacy. In this regard, the research in the contribution made by women into the development of Kazakh Khanate allows for the comprehensive study of the country’s history and helps to eliminate the existing lacunas.

The event was organized by the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, along with the Eurasian National University named after L.Gumilev and the UN Development Programme in Kazakhstan.

The Conference was attended by members of Parliament, government officials, representatives of the United Nations Development Programme in Kazakhstan, scientists and experts, university professors, as well as graduate and undergraduate students.

In the end the Conference participants adopted a resolution.
